Ketting community in Cross River State on Friday, February 22, 2023, hosted and honoured their illustrious son, Hon. Chief Peter Atianashie Akpanke, the House of Representatives Member representing Obudu/Bekwara/Obanliku Federal Constituency.
The lawmaker was honoured alongside other deserving sons and daughters of the land at the event which attracted friends and well-wishers from all walks of life, including Akpanke’s colleagues in the Green Chambers such as Hon. Peter Anekwe, the member representing Anambra East/West Federal Constituency, Hon Prof Lilian Orogbu Representing Awka North/Awka South, and other distinguished guests who came to celebrate with him.
Chief Akpanke received multiple awards for his philanthropic works and developmental strides in Ketting in particular and Obudu/Bekwara/Obanliku in general.
He made huge monetary donations to the community football team and others. He was supported by friends and well-wishers who donated various amounts to Ketting community.
The astute philanthropist and celebrated lawmaker also pledged to increase his development and welfare packages for the community as well as the entire people of Obudu/Bekwara/Obanliku Federal Constituency.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Cross River State, Mr Venatius Ikem extolled the leadership qualities of Hon. Chief Akpanke who he described as a servant-leader and community builder.
Meanwhile, the Honourable member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Hon. Peter Anekwe has congratulated his friend and colleague, Hon. Chief Peter Atianashie Akpanke, on the epoch recognition by his community.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Anekwe said; “I wish to congratulate you on this befitting special/Award ceremony, and also, the good people of ketting community for this remarkable gesture.
“I have no doubt, this special honor and recognition of excellence from your people for your invaluable contributions contributions towards societal transformation will indeed spur you to do more for your people.
“On behalf of myself, family and the good and hardworking people of Anambra East/west federal constituency which I represent at the green chamber of the National Assembly, I congratulate you on this deserving honor bestowed on you by your kinsmen.”
