Datti Baba-Ahmed Reveals He Nearly Halted Swearing-In of Tinubu’s Government

Datti Baba-Ahmed, a former Labour Party vice presidential candidate, has stated that he nearly prevented President Bola Tinubu’s administration from taking office.

He claimed that a few remarks he made had left the All Progressives Congress (APC) reeling.

Baba-Ahmed bemoaned the disregard for his warning to Nigerians during an appearance on Arise News.

He advised the populace not to wait for outside forces, particularly the US, to save the nation.

“I almost stopped the swearing-in of this government,” he declared. Some elements are still blaming me. The APC hasn’t recovered since I made a few remarks.

“We kept telling the people, but they refused to listen. We are paying a very high price because of this.

“No one, wherever in the world, will come and do for you what you won’t do for yourself.

“Americans won’t force you to advance. Wake up, Nigerians.

He stated, “The simple thing is: I love Nigeria,” in reference to the principles that inform his choices. I want Nigeria to be productive. That serves as my compass.

He maintained that Nigeria consistently permits politicians motivated by individual and collective objectives to rise to positions of authority.

He declared, “Nigeria shouldn’t have any leaders whose only concerns are personal gain and reelection.”

In the upcoming election cycle, he urged voters to oppose political trickery.

“In 2027, don’t let anyone rig.” They don’t care about you and will rig. He cautioned that “one person will say the way he wants it interpreted, so the Constitution means nothing.”

Baba-Ahmed turned to his favorite subject, education, and explained the principles that led to the establishment of Baze University.

“Education is our family’s inheritance. “I’ll take action whenever I have a grievance,” he said.

He denounced “widespread rule-breaking in the establishment of new institutions.”

They are misusing the education policy, even if it exists. The laws of this government are being broken. It is unlawful for universities to begin operations in rented buildings, Baba-Ahmed yelled.

He said that some authorities were trying to discredit Baze University.

“They wish to combat me. Their goal is to dilute the quality. But regardless of the repercussions, I will speak the truth,” he declared.
