Dele Momodu Dismisses Jonathan’s Return: ‘Those Determined to Kill PDP Are Still Entrenched

Dele Momodu, the chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has denied rumors that former president Goodluck Jonathan could run for president again in 2027 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The seasoned journalist reportedly stated this on Friday during question-and-answer sessions on Channels Television’s Sunrise show.

Momodu pointed out that Jonathan’s return ambition is still blocked by powerful PDP factions.

Dele Momodu clarified that the meeting between Goodluck Jonathan and Peter Obi, the Labour (LP) presidential contender for 2023, should not be seen as an indication of a partnership.

Citing public responses to a recent meeting between President Bola Tinubu and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), he claimed that conjecture is typical in politics.

“Those who are saying that former President Jonathan will run on the PDP platform, I doubt it,” he added, adding that those who are determined to destroy the PDP are still very much in place. There are many who argue that it’s common for politicians to meet and that he and former Governor Peter Obi are meeting. They get together frequently.

People claimed that Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso was leaving the NNPP and joining the APC after they spotted a photo of him with President Bola Tinubu the other day. There is a lot of speculation. Now is not the time to make assumptions. Now is the time to concentrate and plan.

“So, let folks go; all of this hoopla about this will go there. If you can’t agree on anything in a democracy, then hold a primary, let people vote, and see who wins.
