Dele Momodu Explains How Atiku, Peter Obi, El-Rufai Outsmarted Tinubu

According to Dele Momodu, a leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), opposition leaders have effectively outmanoeuvred President Bola Tinubu’s administration with their political strategies ahead of the general elections in 2027. These leaders include former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Anambra Governor Peter Obi.
Momodu stated on Friday’s Sunrise show of Channels Television that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was trying to undermine parties by inciting internal strife because it was alarmed by the power of the opposition coalition.

He claimed that the APC reacted to the threat of a strong opposition by presenting Tinubu as a consensus candidate in 2027.

He claimed that government operatives purposefully divided political parties including the NNPP, PDP, and Labour Party in order to undermine them.

The ADC conveners foresaw such strategies and took proactive measures to protect the party’s structure from outside intervention, Momodu revealed.

The opposition purposefully tricked the ruling party into believing they were siding with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) or another up-and-coming platform before revealing the ADC as their focal point, the media tycoon also disclosed.

He said that attempts to undermine the coalition were “several steps ahead” of the tenacity of ADC leaders.

It’s clear that the ruling party is nervous,” he remarked. Particularly in 2027, the ruling party does not want any serious competition. They want a single candidate, but they don’t care too much about the governors or the others.

The president and commander in chief are the only men that all political parties should support, if at all feasible. Therefore, I wasn’t shocked when the news surfaced yesterday that these men were headed to court once more.

We are all aware of the situation. If you feel wronged, there’s nothing wrong with you going to court. Fortunately, however, they ought to have been aware that the ADC conveners put in a great deal of effort behind the scenes to get us to this point.

“They were slow. As they have done in Labour, the PDP, and the NNPP, they were aware that government operatives would try to impose their will, causing divisions everywhere.

“You must honor the leaders and gentlemen who worked on ADC, though. Since they are seasoned individuals and well-known politicians, they attempted to tighten every screw. It was also unexpected.

When Nasir El-Rufai announced his intention to join the SDP, everyone remarked, “Oh, it’s obvious the coalition or the opposition will go into SDP.” Over time, it became evident that they were engaging in abracadabra, and people believed they were going to join the party. After that, we hear about ADA about a week or so before ADC. “Oh yes,” they were saying, “we’re going to use a cutlass and everything.” Then all of a sudden ADC arrived.

I wasn’t surprised, then. This did not surprise me. The truth is that the actual stakeholders, who need to be aware of everything meant to irritate ADC, are already far ahead of that annoyance.

“That’s unfortunate. After everything we endured during the military era, it is unfortunate that a civilian government would not want democracy to thrive. Many people have given their lives for this democracy, and we will never know when a few individuals may want to take it over for their own gain, which is exactly what is taking place right now.

The PDP has been unable to advance, as you can see. I would even go so far as to argue that the PDP is currently in a condition of inertia. Even moving backwards is part of it. Every time they say, “Okay, we’ve got a solution,” one man will publicly brag that they can use INEC and the courts to thwart it.

The judiciary will be the next to fail after INEC and the attempt to exploit it have failed. And the judiciary will be brave enough, I hope. Nothing should cause concern. Judges should live for their legacy, knowing that their offspring would live in Nigeria together with their children and grandchildren. Thus, if you destroy Nigeria, consider all those who have destroyed Nigeria before. Where are they now?

“For this reason, I will only plead with the judiciary: resist their pressure and temptations.”
