Democracy Day: Group urges Nigerians to support Buhari
The Coalition for Good Governance and Change Initiatives has urge Nigerians to keep supporting President Muhammadu Buhari and the policies of his administration.
In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Okpokwu Ogenyi, the group observed that within two years of the current administration, the nation has built solid institutions that will guarantee the future of Nigerians.
Specifically, the group noted that “The Anti Corruption war campaign has changed the mindset of Nigerians that public office is to render service and not for accumulation of wealth as witnessed in the previous administrations.”
He commend Nigerians for the unity of purpose in fighting corruption through the whistleblowing policy of the Buhari’ administration.
“Our democracy is working, electricity is improving, the health sector is being revamped, Social Investment Programme (the School feeding initiative), the N-power programme, which is fixing young Nigerians with employers and still being paid stipends, the SDGs projects are in all constituencies across the country, the distribution of improved seedlings to farmers, and above all, the Nigeria Military has defeated Boko Haram.
“Today, Nigerians in most parts of the country are going about their legitimate activities without the fear of bomb blasts as was the case in the past”, the group observed.
The Coalition added that, the federal government needs the support of all Nigerians to drive home its good policies.
According the coalition, which comprises of thirty eight civil society organisations, “there is hope for Nigeria with President Buhari whose interest is to purge Nigeria of corruption and rebuild the Nation”, Ogenyi insisted.
