The Bauchi State government’s ban on DJs and event planners has been denounced by Nigerian disc jockey Oladotun Ojuolape, better known by his stage name Do2dtun.
He reportedly used his 𝕏 page to voice his unhappiness, calling the decision unjust and detrimental to the creative sector.
The legislation, which was implemented in Bauchi State, limits the operations of disc jockeys and event planners throughout the state.
The government clarified that the action was required to restore the moral and spiritual underpinnings of marriage and to reduce the high divorce rate.
The usage of DJs, gala evenings, kawayawade, aloba, and other forms of entertainment deemed to encourage immoral behavior are all prohibited.

In response to the news, DJ Dotun criticized the policy, saying it was ill-considered and detrimental to many Nigerians who depend on entertainment for a living.
He maintained that such regulations demonstrate a lack of knowledge regarding the contribution of the creative sector to the creation of jobs and the empowerment of young people.
“You are completely worthless if you are the one who created the legislation that forbids DJs and event coordinators in a state. What a total lack of knowledge connected to unemployment and hopelessness. What impact does such a law have? He wrote on Monday afternoon, “Some Nigerians are so backward.”
