AN Oyo State High Court has directed the Department of State Services (DSS) to pay N20 billion to Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo alias Sunday Igboho for unlawfully invading his residence in Ibadan, Oyo State capital on July 1.

Justice Ladiran Akintola awarded the sum today as exemplary and aggravated damages against the secret police.

Sunday Igboho had filed the suit asking the court to grant him N500 billion damages for the invasion.

The judge also declared the invasion illegal and chided the DSS for acting based on what he described as “arbitrary aggression and prejudices” from Sunday Igboho’s agitation for Yoruba Nation.

Meanwhile, Sunday Igboho is still in detention in Benin Republic.
