The Edo State branch of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Monday urged the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s South South Zonal Organising Secretary, Dr. Blessing Agbomhere, to run for the party’s governorship ticket in the state.
The panel stated that its decision was based on an examination of Agbomhere’s contributions to the APC’s performance in the 2023 Presidential, National, and State Assembly Elections.
The group said in a statement signed by its coordinator, Dr. Richard Uwaifo, that Agbomhere has the academic capacity and track record to get Edo State back on track after seven years of the outgoing governor’s tyrannical, visionless, and purposeless administration.

The panel also agreed that Edo State needs a candidate with a good education, inventive and creative leadership charisma, and the ability to promote the state in all domains, all of which Agbomhere possesses.
They claimed that the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole administration put the state on a road of economic success and good governance through major infrastructure development and human capital development, but that the trajectory was stopped short by the arrival of the Obaseki-Shuaibu administration.
They said, however, that the people of Edo will accept and welcome Blessing Agbomhere with open arms, knowing that he is the best material for rebuilding the state.
While various groups and important members of society have called for Agbomhere to come and serve the state, it has yet to be revealed whether he has embraced their clarion call.
