for her invitation to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) office for a N138 million fraud charge, former Women Affairs Minister Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye has spoken out.
As she confirmed her attendance in the commission’s Abuja offices on Thursday, Kennedy-Ohanenye stated that she had been asked to provide clarification on certain financial expenses that she had incurred while working in the ministry.
When the president reorganized the cabinet, Kennedy-Ohanenye, a minister in Bola Tinubu’s administration, was fired.
Originally a lawyer, the former minister returned to acting and released her first film a few months after leaving office.
The former minister further clarified the specifics of the anti-graft agency’s offer, characterizing the EFCC as professional.
“I commend the EFCC for their professionalism and hospitality, and I appreciate the opportunity to address the matters that have recently been circulating in the media,” she wrote in a post on X immediately after her release.
