Ekiti Assembly approves 22 commissioner candidates

The 21 individuals recommended by Governor Biodun Oyebanji for the position of commissioners were approved by the Ekiti State House of Assembly on Thursday.

To help with governance and effective service delivery, the governor requested that the Assembly approve another 10 Special Advisers, which the Assembly did.

The executive branch of government, headed by the governor, can now proceed with swearing them into office and giving them ministries, according to Speaker Adeoye Aribasoye, who also made the statement.

Dr. Kofoworola Aderiye, Mr. Oyeniyi Adebayo, Mr. Seun Fakuade, Chief Folorunso Olabode, Mr. Gold Adesola, Dr. Kareem Akande, Prof. Patrick Tedela, Prof. Ojo Bakare, and Mr. Kolawole Ajobiewe are the commissioners-designate.

The Speaker stated that the Special Advisers would always be required to appear before the lawmakers to provide an account of the operations of their Ministries, Departments, and Agencies as well as what they had accomplished with funds that had been authorised for them.

He welcomed the nominees and exhorted them to work hard to advance Ekiti.
