El-Rufai’s Coalition Agenda a Stage Act for Tinubu – APC’s Eta Claims

Hilliard Eta, a former national vice chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), believes that Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, chose to join the effort to form a coalition against President Bola Tinubu because he was unable to get a job in the current administration.
The establishment of a coalition against Tinubu has reportedly been led by Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and El-Rufai.
Eta stated during his appearance on AIT Focus Nigeria that El-Rufai is not unique and that he and other individuals played a greater role in Tinubu’s election as president than the former governor.

Tinubu is an expert at establishing alliances, the APC chieftain said, dismissing the coalition attempt.

“Most of them were once friends of the current president, and people like El-Rufai believed he could become a minister under Asiwaju,” he claimed.

“You inquire as to whether El-Rufai would be forming a coalition today if he had been minister at the time. If he were in his ministry right now, I have no doubt that he would be showing Nigerians his report card.

Let me tell El-Rufai that if we couldn’t be ministers, then there is nothing unique about the president, and that people like us played a bigger role in his creation than he did.

People like Kwankwaso and Aregbesola, who were close associates of Tinubu, are narrow-minded and self-centered.

“Remember that this is the master of coalition building; he has been at the forefront of coalition building from NADECO’s founding days. Keep that in mind while you are fighting and trying to construct a coalition.

“What you are doing now is just a game for him. The fact is that self-preservation, not enlightenment, is what motivates many of our people to enter politics. What makes you believe it can’t come to you later if it hasn’t come to you yet? Even if it never reaches you, everyone benefits when the nation improves.
