The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria and the state government of Enugu State have partnered to support macro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in the state with a N1 billion matching fund, according to the announcement made by the governor of the state, Peter Mbah.

This was revealed by Mbah in a message he made on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, @PNMbah.

Mbah reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to promoting a robust SME ecosystem in order to achieve the state’s goals for economic growth. He also revealed that the ground-breaking “N1Billion Matching Fund Programme” will enable small and medium-sized businesses in Enugu State and create the conditions for their expansion and prosperity.

According to Mbah, the project would offer Conditional Cash Grants for 5,000 MSMEs, giving them the vital financial support they require to prosper and expand their enterprises.

He went on to say that among other crucial projects, the cooperation between Enugu State and SMEDAN include a number of significant programmes, such as skill development, starting financing, and the development of modular industrial estates.

Mbah pledged that his government would keep working with SMEDAN to achieve economic growth and development.

“I’m thrilled to announce our collaboration with the Nigerian Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency on an innovative project – a N1 Billion Matching Fund Programme,” he declared.

“This commendable initiative is set to empower Nano, Macro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Enugu State, paving the way for their growth and success.”

Additionally, Conditional Cash Grants for 5,000 MSMEs are being introduced. These grants are intended to give MSMEs the critical financial help they require to succeed.

“In addition, we work with SMEDAN on a number of important projects, such as the development of modular industrial estates, startup loans, and skill acquisition.”

However, he insisted that Enugu State was dedicated to building a prosperous future for her small and medium-sized enterprises as well as the community at large.

Governor Mbah praised Mr. Charles Odii, the Director General of SMEDAN, for his dedication, perseverance, and vision in assisting SMEs.

“We also appreciate his time to come to our state on Thursday to formally seal the agreement,” he exclaimed. We shall continue working together to accomplish our objective of economic growth and development.
