FCT Doctors Commend Wike for Implementing Their Demands, Extend Support to IDPs

Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, has received praise from the Association of Resident Doctors in the Federal Capital Territory Administration for carrying out the union’s demands.

During an outreach at Durumi Area 1 Internally Displaced Persons Camp, Dr. George Ebong, President of ARD-FCTA, praised the minister.

He encouraged the FCTA to swiftly address the unresolved concerns and stated that the minister has been able to accomplish some of the demands despite the many difficulties faced by doctors in the FCT.

According to Ebong, the association’s primary responsibility is to preserve lives, hence they are dedicated to offering free healthcare services to IDPs.

“We are here because we made the decision to provide some medications to the IDP camp.

“We will continue to do this, and we aim to have a significant impact on our community.

“We came to investigate how we could use Medicare and other tools to improve the lives of our people.

“Yes, we face difficulties. We want to express our gratitude to the Minister, Nyesom Wike, for approving the majority of our demands. As doctors, you are aware of our demands, and I will do my best to defend them.

“We are appreciative of every time our requests are carried out. In an interview, he said, “Yes, there are fewer times that are still there, but we believe that the Minister will see to that.”

Remember that in order to emphasize their demands, which included better welfare, the FCT doctors had gone on multiple strikes.

In order to fully implement the FCTA’s outstanding demands, ARD-FCTA recently stopped its most recent strike.
