In Ogbaru Local Government Area (LGA) of Anambra State, the Federal Government, in collaboration with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and VCDP, has provided Point of Sale (POS) devices to some individuals who are physically challenged.
The LGA secretariat in Atani is where the presentation was given.
Mr. Chukwujekwu Obianefo, the VCDP Rural Finance officer, clarified that the POS terminal was regarded as an essential instrument for empowerment to support the vulnerable in all of the participating LGAs.

According to him, the LGAs of Orumba South, Ihiala, and Ogbaru are being used as a test project, and other LGAs would be included eventually.
According to Mr. Obianefo, the support was provided as a part of the VCDP’s mainstreaming drive for financial inclusion, which takes into account the program’s concern for the disadvantaged and those who live with impairments in order to assist them in escaping poverty.
During the presentation, Mr. Pascal Aniegbuna, the Chairman of Ogbaru Local Government Area, encouraged the beneficiaries to utilize government assistance and intervention wisely through agricultural programs such as the Value Chain Development Programme (VCDP) in order to improve their own lives.
Since the help is intended to help them become financially independent, he urged them to accept it with warmth and added that such a gesture is uncommon.
Mr. Aniegbuna expressed gratitude for the help received from the VCDP Program and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
On behalf of herself and other beneficiaries, Mrs. Amaka Onyema, a physically challenged primary healthcare worker, praised the IFAD-VCDP for the thoughtful gesture and pledged to use it to accomplish the support’s goal.
