A N1 billion check has been delivered by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu for the support of victims of bandit assaults in Benue State’s Yelwata town.
She gave the statement while visiting Benue State on Tuesday to offer condolences to the state’s administration and citizens for recent attacks that killed over 200 people and left many more maimed and displaced.
When Gautier Mignot, the European Union’s ambassador to Nigeria, visited the state, he warned that the Yelwata attack victims were malnourished and in critical need of assistance.
Mignot had urged all parties involved to act quickly to improve the situation, particularly as aid distribution was equally vital in Gaza, Sudan, and the Sahel.
She claims that the goal of the Renewed Hope Initiative is to assist the victims of the heinous attacks in getting back on their feet as quickly as possible.
She first met Governor Hyacinth Alia at the Government House when she first arrived in the state.
The visit gave the governor a chance to reiterate the necessity of state policing, which has long been a hot topic in national discourse.
Mrs. Tinubu denounced the killings, calling them needless and heartbreaking.
As a mother, I implore you all to put aside your grudges and return to friendly, harmonious cooperation.
“Dialogue and patience, rather than violence, continue to be the greatest solutions when disagreements arise. Love is the greatest force in the world, and the path of peace is the path of love. Even though it endures a lot of pain, it overcomes everything.

She emphasized that the key to the expansion, development, and prosperity of any town, people, or country is still peaceful coexistence.
Because of its abundant and varied agricultural products, Benue State is referred to be the country’s “food basket.” Particularly in the area of food security, Benue State can make significant contributions to the development and prosperity of our country.
Sen. Oluremi Tinubu responded to some of the previous speakers’ pleas by promising that the president and other relevant authorities would be informed of everything that was stated.
The state’s recent murders, according to state governor Rev. Father Hyacinth Alia, highlight the urgent need for both state and local policing.
This only serves to highlight how urgently state and community policing are needed in order to guarantee prompt and efficient reaction, efficient intelligence information collection, and safer communities.
He praised the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative, saying it has been characterized by love, support, and compassion.
“Your kindness, generosity, empathy, support, and compassion are much appreciated by Benue State. We observe that this leadership is highly regarded, and we value and treasure it.
