As the sun scorches over Abuja, a different kind of warmth fills my heart—the warmth of redemption, gratitude, and purpose. This is not just my story; it is a tribute to one man’s power to transform lives through compassion and decisive action. That man is Hon. Chief Dr. Philip Agbese, fondly known by many as Okanga.
In the aftermath of a painful political betrayal, I was lost—abandoned by a system I believed in, struggling both financially and emotionally. I had given my all in support of a cause, only to be forgotten. I felt invisible and discarded.
Then Okanga stepped in.
Not with grand speeches, but with quiet, deliberate action. When I had nowhere to sleep in Abuja, he gave me shelter. When I was broke and hopeless, he extended a hand of support. But most importantly, he restored something that I thought I had lost forever: dignity.
He gave me a job—an opportunity to stand tall, earn a living, and contribute meaningfully to society. That monthly salary was more than income; it was recognition, a reminder that I was still valuable.
To Hon. Agbese, I was not a number or a statistic. I was a person. He didn’t see a “nobody”; he saw potential. And he helped me rise.
I also want to express deep gratitude to those who walk alongside him:
-
Dr. Best Agbese Orinya, his younger brother, whose unwavering support continues to bless my life.
-
Hon. Ochonu William Okefie, his Chief of Staff, a man of compassion and calm guidance.
-
Engineer Gideon Unazi, whose reliability and consistent assistance have been a blessing I’ll never forget.
To the larger Okanga movement—you embraced me as one of your own. Thank you.
This journey has reaffirmed my belief in servant leadership. Hon. Agbese is more than a legislator—he is a lifeline, a builder of people, and a voice for the voiceless. His impact goes far beyond policies; it is personal, profound, and powerful.
As we look ahead, I stand committed to supporting his mission. I believe his leadership will not only be sustained but expanded—across Enone, Benue State, and Nigeria. He deserves not just re-election but a continued rise in national service.
One man changed my life. Imagine what he can do for an entire nation.
