Two yet-to-be-identified persons have sustained varying degrees of injuries in a car crash on the Agbara-Badagry Expressway in Lagos State.

According Metro gathered that the incident occurred at about 12.56 pm on Monday.

It was also learnt that the accident involved a Howo truck with registration number KZR73ZT and a Mazda car with registration number KTU900BK.

When contacted, the FRSC Lagos Sector Commander, Babatunde Farinloye, confirmed the incident to our correspondent.

He stated that speeding and reckless overtaking caused the accident, adding that agency officials arrived immediately to help the victims.

Farinloye noted that the victims are currently receiving treatment at the Badagry Hospital while urging motorists to avoid wrongful overtaking on the expressway.

He said, “The incident occurred in a Mazda car. Nobody died; a male and a female were involved, and the accident occurred as a result of reckless speeding and overtaking. The government has assisted us with good roads on the Mile 2 Expressway, but that does not mean people should use the road without caution.

“Our officers arrived at the scene and took care of the situation. They were taken to a hospital in Badagry, and they are receiving treatment.

“Drivers should ensure they overtake carefully if there is a need, and pedestrians should always watch closely when they need to cross the expressway. We cannot put bumps on the expressway because it is not done anywhere, but I urge motorists to be careful when driving.”
