Fubara: Don’t use Rivers money to buy voters – Wike warns political actors

The political crisis in Rivers State took a new twist with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike warning political actors against using the state’s resources on Saturday.

Referring to Governor Sim Fubara, Wike warned that nobody will use the state’s money to hire voters from the North, East, West, or South in 2027.
Speaking while addressing the people of Okirika during his Thank You Visit to the local governments of Rivers State, Wike warned that such political actors will not get tickets in 2027.

He warned that those suddenly singing President Bola Tinubu’s praises “On Your Mandate we Shall Stand” should forget about reelection in 2027.
According to Wike: “I have said here that all those people who are shouting “on your mandate,” it’s good to shout “on your mandate.”

“We started it in 2023 and we will continue to shout it, you that have joined, it will not give you an automatic ticket.
“If you like carry our money and hire people from the North, South, West, and East, it’s fowl. Look at how all of you suffered in 2023, you came out to vote for somebody and at the end of the day, look at the pay back he’s stupid, foolish people. Are you foolish people? Are you stupid people? We are not.
“So I want to assure you that we are working together, there is nothing like parties here, it’s renewed Hope family.”

The Minister urged the people of the state to vote for people with character.
He said: “Mr President has kept to his own agreement and that is why you must vote for people who have character, you must vote for people so that you can go home and sleep with your two eyes closed.
“We made a mistake but we won’t kill ourselves, we will correct the mistake this time around.”
