The formation of an interministerial committee to organize former President Muhammadu Buhari’s state funeral has been approved by President Bola Tinubu.
Buhari passed away on Sunday in a London, UK, clinic.
At first, the former president’s body was supposed to reach Nigeria on Monday.
But according to Katsina Governor Dikko Radda, Buhari’s remains would reach the nation by noon on Tuesday, and the funeral would be held two hours later.
The remains of his late predecessor are anticipated to be given to Tinubu.
George Akume, the SGF, is the chairman of the committee and is charged with organizing and arranging a fitting state funeral for the deceased former president, according to a statement released by Segun Imohiosen, director of information and public relations at the office of the secretary to the federation (OSGF).

The committee’s secretariat will be the general services office (GSO), the office of the permanent secretary, and the chief of defense staff.
According to Imohiosen, Tinubu has also instructed all ministries, divisions, and agencies (MDAs) to post condolence books at the front of their buildings so that people can honor Buhari.
The ministry of foreign affairs and the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre would launch a central condolence registry for the public and diplomatic community, he continued.
