Popular Nigerian Afrobeat musician Ahmed Ololade, better known by his stage name Asake, has been urged by his family to assume responsibility for his ailing father, Fatai Odunsi, and his purported daughter, Zeenat.
In a widely shared video, Odunsi claimed to be having a stroke and pleaded with Nigerians for money.
The last time Odunsi and Asake saw one other was in March 2022, when his illness started, and he believed that Asake had abandoned him.
Asake addressed the situation with a Yoruba song in a video posted on his social media profile on Friday, saying that one cannot please everyone.
Despite his previous kindness, the musician said his father was trying to control him.
Speaking through a female spokesperson, the family requested Asake to purchase a house for his ailing father that would cost ₦40 or ₦50 million in a video that went viral on the internet on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
According to the family, Asake left his purported 11-year-old daughter Zeenat behind, and her mother has consented to a DNA test.
“I beg you, Asake; you will grow old one day, so please take care of your father,” the family begged. Asake must show up and complete the necessary tasks. Asake’s N1 million would make Mr. Odunsi happier than he is now, even if Nigerians gave him N10 billion. We will harvest what we sow in this life, according to the Quran. Ololade, Mr. Money, may God continue to bless you and may you continue to grow. May God grant you the ability to provide for your father as well.

“You must take care of your father and do the right thing, but I won’t go into your mother’s problems. A home valued at N40 million or N50 million can be found in Isale Eko. If you don’t want to personally support your father, you may purchase one for him so he can live off the rent.
“If you don’t want to look after him, at least purchase a N50 million home in his name; he’ll be able to live off the rent.” He’s not making a lot of demands.
“The mother has consented to a DNA test if you have any doubts about Zeenat.”
