Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The governor presented his resignation on November 4, 2025, in a letter to the PDP Chairman of Ward 2, Sagba Abogunde, in Ede North Local Government Area, Osun State, according to a statement made public late on Monday night by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.
Governor Adeleke claimed that the PDP’s continuing national leadership issue was the reason he chose to quit the party.
“I hereby resign my membership in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect due to the current crisis within the PDP’s national leadership.” He penned
He also commended the party for the opportunity it allowed him to serve as a senator representing Osun West and then as governor of Osun State.
While the governor is yet to formally name the party he is slated to join, there are reports circulating that the governor may be preparing to join the Accord Party as preparations begin for the 2026 governorship race in the state.
