Guinness World Record has deducted seven hours from Nigerian, Hilda Effiong Bassey, aka Hilda Baci’s 100 hour longest cooking marathon by individual record.

The record body while certifying her as the new record holder in a statement on Tuesday, said it deducted seven hours from her record because “she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt.”

Guinness World Record put her official record at 93 hours 11 minutes and not 100 hours.

It said it arrived at the decision after “a thorough review of all the evidence.”

The previous record of 87 hours 45 minutes was set by India’s Lata Tondon in 2019.
