Gunmen Attack Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Family Home in Kogi State

In a disturbing incident, unknown armed men attacked the family residence of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Kogi State during the early hours of Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

The attack occurred at around 1:00 a.m. in Obeiba-Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, and involved at least three assailants armed with cutlasses and firearms. The intruders reportedly vandalized the property, shattering several window panes before fleeing the scene.

The incident was disclosed by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama via his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday, April 17. According to Makama, the senator’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu Ovanja, officially reported the assault to law enforcement authorities.

Upon receiving the distress alert, security operatives from the Okehi Police Division were immediately dispatched to the location. While no casualties were recorded, the premises were inspected and documented by the responding officers. Preliminary investigations have since commenced.

Police sources say the motive for the attack remains unknown, and no arrests have been made so far.

As of the time of this report, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has not issued a public statement regarding the incident.

The attack has raised fresh concerns about security in Kogi State and the growing threats faced by public officials and their families.
