Rev. Agbadamashi Emmanuel, an Anglican priest, and his wife and children were kidnapped by gunmen along the East-West road near Evwreni junction.
The event occurred on Friday while the Anglican priest and his family members were traveling from Ughelli to the Uwheru hamlet in the State’s Ughelli North Local Government Area.
According to reports, the gunmen ambushed them and marched them into the jungle.
Hon. Justice Iyasere, Public Relations Officer of the Anglican Communion, Ughelli Diocese, confirmed the event to journalists in Warri on Monday morning.
He couldn’t say whether the kidnappers had demanded a ransom.

However, the abducted clergyman and his family were still being held hostage at the time of reporting this article.
When approached by newsmen, Delta State Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, promised to get back to them as soon as he had information from the Divisional Police Officer.
