During President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), revealed that he avoided the Presidential Villa out of fear for his life.
Speaking at a live media briefing, Wike expressed his fear of being hurt for standing firmly in opposition to the Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
He criticized the incumbent governors, who were chosen under the main opposition party’s banner, and insisted that their goal was to overthrow the PDP.

“These current governors are interested in eliminating the PDP,” he stated.

“I served as a governor. I witnessed the opposition party—no, the Buhari-led ruling party—come out against the PDP at that time.

“I can say it with pride. I feel incredibly proud. I firmly stated that it would not work. We have to live, I said. The [Presidential] Villa was never visited by me. Never, never! I actually quit attending NEC. Because I was afraid for my life, I stopped attending the NEC meetings.

“The PDP will not perish,” I declared as I stood. Ignore these folks. You say one thing now, and then something else at night.

“I never concealed where I intended to go.”

Wike went on to say that the governors chosen on the PDP platform lack moral integrity.
