Igboho: We’re working behind the scene, says Sanwo-Olu
GOVERNOR Babajide Sanwo-Olu says some people are working behind the scene following the arrest of Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho.
Sanwo-Olu made this known today after casting his votes at the Polling Unit 019 Ward 08, Ikoyi II during the local government/council areas election.
“These are very difficult times for all of us. I can assure you that people are working behind the scenes,” the governor said.
“At occasions like this, it’s not by how many Press people you call. I’m aware that a lot of people have responses that they are doing quietly and privately and it doesn’t have to be a public conversation.”
After the Department of State Services raided Sunday Igboho’s Ibadan home on July 1, southern governors which included Sanwo-Olu agreed that security operatives must inform the governor before carrying out operation in a state.
Sunday Igboho, 48, and his wife Ropo were arrested on July 19 by the Interpol at the Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou, Republic of Benin. The couple were trying to catch a flight to Germany.
The activist is wanted in Nigeria for allegedly stockpiling ammunition, an allegation he denied.
