Rochas Okorocha, a former governor of Imo State, stated on Monday that he is eager to speak with Hope Uzodinma about the state’s security issues.

Three days after his convoy was attacked in the state and a cop was killed, Okorocha spoke to journalists at his Spilbat mansion in Owerri, the state’s capital, and claimed that insecurity had risen in Imo state.

In order to help find a long-term solution to the problems of insecurity, Okorocha stated that he would for the first time write a letter to the governor asking him to call a meeting of all previous governors of the state.

It is the only matter, according to the former governor, for which he would agree to meet with the governor.

He added that he has no business with the governor other than to ensure the safety and welfare of the state’s citizens and that he is worried about their safety.

Okorocha claimed that having political power is useless if the populace is not receiving the benefits of democracy. He claimed that during his eight years as governor, he was responsible for managing the state’s good, bad, and ugly natives and citizens.

He claimed that former governors might have knowledge to impart to Uzodinma that could help put an end to the killings and arson occurring in the state.

“I feel disturbed,” Okorocha said in reference to the murder of the policeman who had been sent by the government of Enugu State to accompany him to the mother of Ihedioha’s neice’s funeral. I send my condolences to his family, the governor of Enugu State, and the chief of police.

“I’m going to start by seeing his family, and then we’ll continue from there. I discovered he is from the state of Ogun and left behind a wife and four young children. I’m going to write Governor Hope Uzodinma a letter for the first time. I’m going to ask him to call a meeting of all the former Imo state governors. We could give him information that would make the state less unstable.

I can only agree to meet with him on the basis of this. The safety and well-being of the Imo state are matters that worry me. Party politics have nothing to do with it. As the former governor of this state, I have some information to share with him. He should hear from former governors Achike Udenwa and Ikedi Ohakim. This is how it needs to be done. Power is the responsibility placed in your hands to ensure the safety, welfare, and well-being of the populace. Every government’s success is based on how content its citizens are.
