In Delta, father allegedly flogs teacher to death for disciplining son

Nnajiofor Nweke, a father accused of causing the death of a teacher at Alihami Secondary School in Agbor, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, has been arrested by the Delta State Police Command.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, as a result of a disciplinary action taken against the suspect’s son, who was accused of stealing palm wine.

According to the Delta State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, the suspect’s son, along with other students, stole two kegs of palm wine from a local shop.

This incident was promptly reported to school authorities, who identified the students and imposed disciplinary measures, including corporal punishment.

When the suspect learned of the disciplinary measures taken against his child, he went to the school armed with a cane and began flogging the teachers.

During the attack, one of the teachers collapsed and died.

“Failed parenting!!!” wrote Edafe. It has now become a murder investigation. On October 18, 2023, the suspect Nnajiofor Nweke, a father of one student (name withheld) at Alihame Mixed Secondary School Agbor, went to a palm wine shop with other students and allegedly stole two kegs of palm wine.

“The incident was reported to school officials, and the students were flogged.” In protest, the suspect arrived at the school with a cane and began flogging teachers.
