In Ondo, popular businessman, socialite kills his wife, commits suicide

On Friday night, prominent oil and gas merchant and socialite Sesan Adelabu killed his wife Bolu by butchering her. This tragedy occurred in Akure, the capital of Ondo State.

Following the incident at their home in the upscale Alagbaka neighborhood, many people are curious as to what went wrong between the two lovers.

Locals claim that Adelabu, who is well-known in the community as “Shessy Emirate,” cut his wife multiple times with a machete after he supposedly discovered her having an affair.

Emirate, who runs networks of gas stations and filling stations, was rumored to have driven out of his home to purchase the lethal insecticide Sniper after mercilessly killing her.

He consumed the substance upon returning home, at which point he released the ghost.

Abayomi Oladipo, the state’s commissioner of police, has, in the meanwhile, directed that the matter be looked into right away.

Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the police public relations officer, confirmed the news and said that the State Criminal Investigation Department’s (SCID) homicide division will now be handling the investigation.

“On February 9, 2024, members of the Special Protection Unit called the police of A’ Division Akure in panic.

Around six o’clock at night, the deceased boy called the police stationed at his home in Akure’s Alagbaka neighborhood to inquire about his father.

“While attempting to notify his principal that he was not returning his calls, the policeman found him unconscious and face down in the toilet, and his wife’s body, covered in many slashes on her head and face that appeared to be from a machete, was found on the bed.

She added, “An empty sniper container was also found at the scene.”

The couple’s bodies have been placed to the mortuary in the interim.
