In Zamfara, troops kill four bandits

In the Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Friday, Operation Hadarin Daji soldiers killed four bandits.

According to a dependable source who confirmed this to Sunday PUNCH, the troops stationed at the Forward Operation Base in Faru village were informed by the bandits that Bagabuzu village was about to be attacked.

“Upon learning of the information, the brave troops hastily mobilized to the area, engaged the armed bandits in a gunfight, and prevented them from entering the villages,” he continued. Four bandits were killed during the encounter, but others managed to escape with gunshot wounds. The soldiers recovered one General Purpose Machine Gun, one FN rifle, and 123 rounds of special ammunition while repelling the attack.

In a recent coordinated operation, he claimed, the troops had destroyed bandit camps in the Zamfara and Sokoto states’ Mutuwa, Guda Tudu, Kawar, Dantayawa, Gidan Kare, Mahuta, and Gyado villages.
