Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has asked the Nigerian Defense Headquarters to establish a Military Operational Base (MOB) in the region as the state deals with the fallout from a violent attack that murdered over 13 persons in seven communities in the Arewa Local Government Area.
During his visit to the impacted areas, where residents lost their houses in the brutal assault, the governor reportedly made this request.
“Establishment of the base can solve this banditry attack,” Idris said, underscoring the urgency of military action. To enable people to live in peace like everyone else in the state, we demand that the Nigerian Army set up a military base in Arewa, the local government area.
“One of the priority attention of my administration is to see that everybody is protected from the hands of criminals, especially the daredevil Lakurawa bandits who are always terrorizing innocent people in their areas,” he continued, restating his administration’s commitment to security.
