Ireti Kingibe, the senator for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has called President Bola Tinubu’s choice to select Nyesom Wike as FCT Minister his worst error.
Kingibe reportedly disclosed this in an interview with ARISE Television.
The Labour Party (LP) lawmaker criticized President Tinubu for giving Wike such political prominence despite being an opposition member, saying, “It is my personal opinion that that is rather unfortunate, because if I were making a list of all the things that President Tinubu has done wrong, the greatest wrong he has done to himself, the thing that has demarcated him the most has been on Minister Wike.”
She responded to Wike’s alleged popularity in recent surveys by saying, “If, in fact, Minister Wike is as popular as According to the poll’s conductor and methodology, you’re referring to that particular survey. Elections for municipal governments are approaching in a few months, and I’m not disparaging it.
She added, “Can he tell the people to go and do this and they do it when it comes to any kind of election? If he is unable to do so, then all ministers have been doing is blustering and continuing to make noise.
Kingibe also charged the minister with reusing property intended for a public hospital. “Land has been set aside for a general hospital in Bwari. Minister Wike revokes it and has a market, shopping center, or other event set up there. Regarding ground rent, Minister Wike has been pestering embassies and the entire FCT.

Kingibe continued, “Oh, I’m going to take those documents and go to the body, the equivalent of his state assembly, and insist that that assembly, the president from whom Wike derives his powers, goes back to the National Assembly for approval for everything,” in reference to her intention to take documents that she said demonstrated Wike’s abuse of power.
“Wike, who is receiving authority from him, only attends the National Assembly to discuss the budget. What did he do with all of his IGR, TSA? Nothing has ever been accounted for by him.
