Iyabo Ojo, a Nollywood actress turned entrepreneur, has complained that the Lagos State Government is attempting to destroy her business with an alleged N18 million tax request.
On Monday, the mother of two took to Instagram to share documents from a personal income tax letter, expressing her displeasure with the government’s exorbitant amount demanded.
She vented her rage at Governor Sanwo-Olu and the State government, demanding an explanation for the astronomical tax bill.
She questioned the rationale for such a high personal income tax, as well as the lack of transparency in the calculation process.
The actress recalled a previous encounter in which she complied with the government’s request to explain and declare her earnings but received no response.

“The last time you asked me to come to your office, I came; you asked me to explain and declare what I earn, which I did with my tax consultant; however, you did not respond to my letter, because you want me to pay you an outrageous amount that I do not have.”
The mother of two expressed concern about the government’s insensitivity to the challenges faced by individuals and businesses, feeling overwhelmed by the mounting financial burden imposed on her.
She questioned the government’s contributions to her life, claiming that they had made no contributions to her.
“What have you ever done as a government for me?” Nothing!!! “I have raised my children and so many others on my own, as well as myself, without receiving a single penny from the government,” she wrote.
