Joe Igbokwe, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Drainages, has refuted former Kano Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi’s claim that Nigeria is worse off without someone like Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as president.
Remember that Osinbajo ran for President of the All Progressives Congress, APC, against President-elect Bola Tinubu, former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, and others in May 2022.
Sanusi, who spoke at the virtual launch of a book titled “Osinbajo Strides: Defining Moments of an Innovative Leader,” expressed hope that Osinbajo would still lead the country after the May 29 handover.

However, Joe Igbokwe, an APC chieftain, took to Facebook on Wednesday to counter the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
According to Igbokwe, if Osinbajo had won the ticket, the ruling party would have lost the presidential election on February 25 to the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
“APC’s enemies are talking,” he wrote. If Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu had not been on the ballot, the APC would have been defeated by Atiku’s PDP by 12 p.m. that day.”
