Goodluck Jonathan, the former president of Nigeria, has expressed sorrow at Pope Francis’ passing.
According to reports, Jonathan called the late pope of the Catholic Church and bishop of Rome a peacemaker.
Jonathan said Pope Francis, who will be buried on Saturday, dedicated his life to religion and service in his condolence message on Tuesday.
In light of the death of His Holiness Pope Francis, the head of the Catholic Church, I extend my sincere condolences to the Nigerian Catholic Church and the Christian community worldwide.
Pope Francis was a religious figure whose influence extended beyond the pulpit to numerous other areas of society. He fought for equality, justice, and peace on a global scale. The fact that Pope Francis passed away the day after delivering his Easter sermon is evidence of his devotion to both duty and faith. He remained steadfast in his beliefs and dedicated to his mission of spreading love, justice, and peace throughout the world, even throughout his difficult times.

“May his life of faith, dedication, and service to God continue to inspire us all as we reflect on the void left by his departure,” he said.

The late Pope’s demand for an end to the Gaza issue was praised by Islamic cleric Pantami. He referred to him as the final peacemaker in the world.
“Pope Francis stood by the oppressed in Gaza, consistently speaking out for innocent civilians affected by the conflict,” he wrote in his condolence message on Monday. Among the noteworthy assertions are:
1) We cannot overlook the suffering of innocent civilians in Gaza, because the situation is terribly dire;
2) Enough, enough, enough, brothers; and
“3) May the hostages be immediately released and may space be opened in Gaza to ensure humanitarian aid.” Let there be a ceasefire and no one give up on the idea that the weapons might be silent. He continued to speak out for Gaza’s downtrodden people even in his last public appearance. In Gaza and elsewhere, the world lost a peacemaker.
“We send our deepest sympathies to the Christian community and all peace seekers who are grieving his loss.”
