On Thursday, June 12, Nigerian police officers positioned themselves near Lagos’ Ikeja Underbridge after demonstrators gathered in the streets.
To maintain peace and order, the officers from Politics Nigeria’s Area F Division were out on the streets.
To commemorate the country’s 26th Democracy Day, demonstrators took to the streets of Lagos.
The demonstrators, who were numerous, denounced the increasing suffering and unrelenting murders of Nigerians in all of the nation’s states.
Members of various civil society organizations and individuals who have expressed concern about Nigeria’s deteriorating economic situation comprise the protesting group.

Additionally, they denounced a number of the reforms and programs that President Bola Tinubu’s administration has implemented since taking office on May 29, 2023.
Kano and other states have expressed interest in joining the demonstration, even though it hasn’t formally started in Lagos yet.
Remember that President Tinubu was supposed to speak to Nigerians in a broadcast on Democracy Day earlier.
However, the Nigerian government stated that the president would be joining the lawmakers for a joint session of the National Assembly, therefore the live broadcast was canceled.
On Thursday, June 12, at around noon, the president is scheduled to speak to the nation’s residents from the National Assembly complex.
