The Court of Appeal sitting in Markurdi, Benue State capital, has sacked Hon. Chris Adaji, the member representing Ohimini state constituency.
Adaji, who doubles as the Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, has lost in his appeal challenging the verdict of the Election Petition Tribunal which invalidated his election.
Recall that the Tribunal while ruling in a petition brought before it by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Comr. Alechenu Musa, had ordered for the conduct of fresh elections in two polling units of the Deputy Speaker’s constituency.
The Court subsequently declared a fresh election to be conducted into two polling units in the constituency.
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the election, Hon. Alechenu Musa and the ousted deputy speaker are expected to be the major contenders in the election that is expected to take place within the next 90days
