The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf has approved the appointment of a new management board of Kano Pillars Football Club following the expiration and dissolution of the previous management.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Sunday in Kano.
Bature in the statement said the new board members who were carefully selected for their competence and experience will serve for an interim period of one year, with the potential for renewal based on the team’s performance in the upcoming season.
The new board has Ali Umar (Nayara Mai Samba) as Chairman; Salisu Kosawa, Honorary Member; while Yusuf Danladi (Andy Cole), Nasiru Bello, Muhammad Ibrahim (Hassan West), Muhammad Usman and Muhammad Danjuma Gwarzo are to serve as members of the board.
Other members include Mustapha Usman Darma, Umar Dankura, Ahmad Musbahu, Rabiu Abdullahi and Engr. Usman Kofar Naisa.
Abubakar Isah Dandago Yamalash was named the club’s media director and Ismail Abba Tangalash, who has been appointed as the deputy media director.
While expressing confidence in the board members, Governor Yusuf said the new board is expected to work closely with the state Ministry of Youth and Sport and other relevant stakeholders in the sport industry to promote Kano Pillars FC.
Additionally, the Governor approved the appointment of Nigerian Super Eagles Captain, Ahmed Musa, as the Kano State Sports Ambassador.
Governor Yusuf noted that Musa’s his involvement will not only motivate the players, but would also elevate the team and gain prestige.
