Kashim Shettima, the vice president-elect, has appointed a northern Christian as his Aide De Camp (ADC) and a Chief Security Officer from Nigeria’s South-East region.

An inauguration lecture was held today, according to reports, attracting prominent figures from the country, including President Buhari, Kashim Shettima, and Bishop Kukah, among others.

Shettima used the opportunity to address the audience during the event.

Despite being from the country’s Northern region and practising Islam, he made the startling announcement that his ADC would be a Christian, and his Chief Security Officer would be from the South-East.

“Politics is all about perception,” he said. “As we begin to form a new administration, I purposefully chose an Igbo man, a Catholic, to be my Chief Security Officer,” he explained.
