According to reports, the attackers who abducted Nelson Adepoyigi, the Ward 5 Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ose Local Government Area, Ondo State, have captured two people who allegedly volunteered to pay the ₦5 million ransom to free him.
In light of this occurrence, the kidnappers are now requesting ₦30 million in order to free Adepoyigi and the two ransom bearers, Isimeri and Bayode Loco.
Adepoyigi was reportedly kidnapped on Monday night at around 10 p.m. outside his Ifon home, where he was beaten by the gunmen before being dragged away by force.
The community is in a state of bewilderment as a result of this circumstance, which has further sunk the victim’s family and political circles into chaos.

Negotiations resulted in the kidnappers lowering their initial demand of ₦100 million to ₦5 million and food supplies. But after getting the ₦5 million, they broke their word and are now requesting ₦30 million to ensure Adepoyigi and the two people return safely, which has increased anxiety among his family and political allies who had hoped for his homecoming.
The same kidnappers also took the people who brought the ransom hostage, according to one unnamed source.
Before releasing all three of them, they are now demanding an additional ₦30 million, according to the Daily Post, which cited the anonymous source.
In the process of verifying the occurrence, Ose Local Council Area Chairman Kolapo Oja revealed that the ransom demand of ₦100 million was reduced to ₦5 million during earlier talks with the kidnappers, coupled with the addition of food items.
As security personnel in the state step up their efforts to ensure the victims’ safe rescue, Oja, who expressed his concern about the situation, called for calm.
