Killings in Benue: Apostle Suleman Calls on People to Protect Themselves

Omega Fire Ministries International’s general overseer, Johnson Suleman, has urged the Federal Government to openly admit that the nation’s security framework is ineffective and to give Nigerians the freedom to defend themselves against persistent attacks, especially in Benue State.
In a forceful message on Sunday through his 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) name, Suleman said that residents had no choice but to use self-defense, which he maintained was a constitutional right, because the government was unable to protect lives and property.
Following Friday’s massacre in Yelewata, Guma Local Government Area, where more than 200 people were reportedly killed in yet another vicious herdsmen attack, Suleman wrote, “If the federal government knows it’s overwhelmed or its security architecture has failed, they should be humble enough to tell the citizens.”

“Defend yourself, Benue people. He said, “What is taking place in Benue State is wicked, savage, and chaotic.”
He continued by saying that on his prior trips to Jos and Benue, he had urged the populace to remain watchful and ready to defend their neighborhoods.

Additionally, the cleric said, “The constitution guarantees the right to self-defense. I mentioned it when I visited Benue and Jos. We cannot stand by and watch this go on.

Additionally, the ferocious preacher attacked lawmakers who were already planning for the general elections in 2027 without addressing the current insecurity crisis plaguing the nation.

It’s absurd that as chaos is being wreaked on the people they are meant to manage in 2025, individuals are planning for 2027. “Where has your humanity gone?” he inquired.

In closing, Apostle Suleman wrote, “There was a country…” as a somber assessment on the state of the nation.
