Lagos CP decorates 35 newly promoted senior police officers

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has decorated 35 senior officers recently promoted within the command, in a move aimed at boosting morale and strengthening security operations across the state.

The ceremony, which took place at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters, saw 30 officers promoted from the rank of Superintendent of Police, SP, to Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP, while five Deputy Superintendents of Police, DSPs, were elevated to the rank of SP.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, CP Jimoh described the promotion exercise as a reflection of the Inspector-General of Police’s commitment to professionalism, motivation, and rewarding excellence within the Nigeria Police Force.

He noted that the exercise reinforces the principle that dedication, discipline, and hard work are recognised and appropriately rewarded, adding that it should inspire improved performance among officers.
On behalf of the command, the commissioner expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for the confidence reposed in the newly promoted officers.

CP Jimoh said the promotions would serve as a morale booster and significantly enhance operational effectiveness and service delivery across the command.
He stressed that the officers’ new ranks come with increased expectations from both the Police Force and the public, urging them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
“A higher rank demands greater responsibility. You must show increased diligence, discipline, and professionalism in the discharge of your duties,” he charged.

The commissioner congratulated the officers and their families, expressing confidence that the promotions would translate into improved security and safety for residents of Lagos State.
“I am confident that you will continue to contribute meaningfully to the protection of lives and property and the overall security of Lagos State,” he said.
