Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has directed Fulani herders across the south-west to immediately stop night and underage grazing.

MACBAN National President Muhammadu Kiruwa stated this on Monday during a meeting with some state governors in Akure, Ondo State capital.

Kiruwa also warned herders to desist from taking their cows to people’s farms for grazing.

The MACBAN leader said the order given by Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu for herders to vacate the state’s forest reserves was not new but had been issued two years ago, adding that those who wished to remain in the reserves should get registered.

He stressed that MACBAN was a peaceful association that condemns crime. Kiruwa also promised to work together with security agencies to fish out criminals.

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde said all hands must be on deck to lawfully fight crimes.

“We will continue to promote good neighborliness among our people and we will ensure that all of us go after the criminals together.

“We will continue to support our security agencies because they are also trying to maintain law and order in an atmosphere of pandemic and economic challenges. We will continue to provide support for the security agencies for them to do their work,” he said.
