Political stakeholders and prominent figures across Nigeria have commended the appointment of Senator Adedayo Adeyeye as Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) by President Bola Tinubu.
The appointment was celebrated at a gathering in Abuja on Thursday night, drawing a wide array of dignitaries including Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, former Governors Ayodele Fayose and Segun Oni, and Senator Tanko Al-Makura.
Also in attendance were Senator Olu Adetumbi, NPA Managing Director Abubakar Dantsoho, Senator Iyiola Omisore, and former Ebonyi Deputy Governor Kelechi Igwe.
Senator Bamidele, hailing from the same state as Adeyeye, lauded the appointment as a long-overdue recognition of loyalty and dedication.
“Senator Adeyeye stood by President Tinubu from the start. His appointment is not just a reward—it’s a message that loyalty counts,” Bamidele said.
Former Minister of Defence Musiliu Obanikoro echoed these sentiments, recalling Adeyeye’s pivotal role in mobilizing support for Tinubu during the early stages of the SWAGA campaign.
Governor Oyebanji described the development as a major win for Ekiti State, praising Adeyeye’s experience and commitment.
“The President has chosen wisely. Senator Adeyeye brings discipline, patriotism, and a deep sense of duty,” he said.
In his remarks, Adeyeye thanked President Tinubu for keeping his promise and assured stakeholders of his readiness to serve with integrity and foster progress at the NPA.
He also pledged full support to Governor Oyebanji ahead of the next election, declaring a united political front in Ekiti.
“We’re not just supporting you—we’re winning by a landslide,” he said.
Adeyeye emphasized the need to move beyond political rivalry and work collectively for the growth of Ekiti State and Nigeria at large.
