Chimaobi Agah, a father of four children, is appealing with the Abia State Government and the state police command to come to their aid after his four children went missing on Monday morning.
Agah, a 43-year-old resident of Umuagua Ibeku in Umuahia North LGA, Abia State, said that his four children, Godswill Chimaobi (two male), Nmesomachi Chimaobi (seven female), and Testimony Chimaobi (four male), had left the house on Monday, November 27, to attend Great Ambassadors College, Nkwoegwu, also in Umuahia North, but had not been seen since.
He claimed to have traveled to Enugu State after his wife got the kids ready for school and recruited a local tricycle driver to take them there.
He and his wife were concerned and began watching out for the four kids when they weren’t home at the end of the day, according to him. He claimed that when the four kids went missing, they became concerned that the tricycle rider hired to take them to school might have taken them hostage.
Agah claims that the incident has destroyed his family because they are still struggling to deal with the trauma and lead regular lives.
“To get them to school, she gave money to a Keke (tricycle) rider. When it came time for the school to let out in the afternoon, they failed to come home, so my wife went to search for them there.
“The administrators of the school informed her that they never showed up for class. I got back to Umuahia on Tuesday morning after receiving a call from my wife. When I visited the school, the same narrative was told to me.
Thus, I reported it to the police. They handed me four police officers, and together we made a fruitless search for them. They requested that I make a statement the next day and return. They then directed me to go to a radio station and announce something. Even though I’ve completed everything, I haven’t yet seen them.
Please lend a hand to me, public. Please pardon my transgressions, God. Although I am aware of my guilt, I still think Jesus died on the cross to atone for our sins. He shouted out, “Please, I need my four children rescued.”
Agha begged the state administration and the police to help find and save the children, saying, “I am feeling bored,” after reporting to the police that, as of Sunday, the youngsters had not been seen. It’s difficult to lose four kids. Let us get assistance from the police and the government of Abia State.
He mentioned that on Sunday, he was invited to the police department.
“On 28/11/2023, at about 1530 hrs, Mr. Chimaobi Agha and his wife, Mrs. Chimaobi Oluchi, residents of Umuagu (Ibeku, Umuahia North LGA), visited Ohuhu Police Divisional headquarters to report an incident,” stated ASP Maureen Chinaka, the police public relations officer for the Abia State Police Command, in a statement on Sunday, acknowledging the report.
In accordance with their statement, Mrs. Chimaobi Oluchi escorted their four children, who are as follows: Godswill Chimaobi (2 years old, male), Testimony Chimaobi (4 years old), and Chinweotiti Chimaobi (7 years old, female).
“To board an unknown tricycle headed for Great Ambassadors College, Ukaiuga Nkwoegwu, Ohuhu, in Umuahia North LGA, the children’s mother escorted them to the intersection of her street.
Since the tricyclist’s identity is unknown and the oldest is only seven years old, no one accompanied or escorted them. Sadly, the kids did not show up at home as planned when the school day ended.
“The police started looking into the missing children’s whereabouts. The kids were not at school on the designated date, according to additional investigation, and efforts are still underway to find the missing kids.
“We kindly ask anyone with information that may help identify them to please report directly to the closest police station.”
