Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has approved the appointment of an Imo indigen, Mr Uche Okonkwo as a personal assistant.
Okonkwo was appointed as the special assistant to the governor on Christian indigenous Nigerians residing in Katsina state.
Mr Okonkwo is expected to assist the governor in liaising with Christian indigenous Nigerians residing in Katsina state
The appointee is expected to play an intermediary role between Governor Masari and Christian indigenous Nigerians residing in the northwest state.
Okonkwo’s appointment has received general acceptability amongst Nigerians who interprets the gesture as an effort by the governor to sustain unity and stability in the state.
The appointment was contained in a letter signed by the secretary to the Katsina state government, Mustapha Muhammadu Inuwa.
The governor also approved the appointments of Aliyu Abdullahi and Sani Mansir as special assistants on media.
