President Bola Tinubu has received a “Save Our Souls” message from Comrade Anas Abdullahi Kaura, the immediate-past governor of Zamfara State, pleading with him to assist in reducing the level of unrest in the Northwestern state. Kaura is Bello Matawalle’s spokesperson.
Following the inauguration of the new governor, Dr. Dauda Lawal, Kaura bemoaned the state’s deteriorating status and pleaded with the federal government to act quickly.
Speaking with journalists on Thursday in Abuja, Kaura claimed that the federal government’s intervention was the only way to end the state’s ongoing insecurity because, in his opinion, the state administration has demonstrated its inability to do so.

He claimed that in less than five days, 70 individuals had been abducted in Bukuyum, 40 in Jangebe, 10 in the Damri Bakura Local Government, and 27 had been murdered in Gwaram, nine of whom had been treated like animals before being butchered.
Even the security forces are concerned about other bloody terrorist assaults.
Kaura added that it was a falsehood that the former governor of Zamfara state, Bello Matawalle, did not leave a cent in the state treasury, saying that “on the other side, despite the state’s current condition of insecurity, Dr. Dauda Lawal travelled out of the nation only to watch polo, a few days ago.”
“Even if the governor has admitted in his interview with BBC Hausa that money was not left for him, the question at hand is: how did he receive the cash to purchase automobiles costing billions of Naira? This amount alone will solve the security issues in Zamfara state, according to Kaura.
The people of Zamfara State, according to Kaura, are experiencing an unprecedented level of insecurity, and despite the fact that the current governor pledged during the election campaign to combat the problem, the threat is still present.
According to one of the governor’s subordinates quoted in the media, “Considering the state’s security condition, Governor Dauda has the right to purchase whatever car that will protect him. He is making an attempt to protect himself, but he hasn’t done anything to address the state’s security issues. Kaura questioned, “Where is the pledge he made to safeguard the lives and property of the electorate?”
