The Champions Women Entrepreneurs Mentoring Association has described effective leadership and mentorship as catalysts to propel women entrepreneurs to success.

The association stated this during a recent capacity-building workshop for women entrepreneurs in Lagos

Speaking at the event, the National Coordinator of the Association of Nigerian Women Business Network, Angela Ajala, emphasised the importance of networking platforms and opportunities.

She disclosed that networking had helped many entrepreneurs through access to training, resources, knowledge, and skills.

In his submission, a certified expert in organisation development, Noruwa Edokpolor, noted that leadership skills require the capacity to inspire, influence, and guide individuals and teams toward a common goal with qualities such as vision, integrity, empathy, and decisiveness to drive organisation success.

He also harped on overcoming barriers to personal development.

Also, the President of CWEMA, Olakitan Wellington, said that the workshop with the theme ‘Female Entrepreneurs in An Emerging Economy’ was to equip potential female entrepreneurs on how to navigate the challenges associated with businesses.

Wellington, who doubles as the national secretary of the Association of Nigerian Women Business Network, declared, “The capacity building workshop is part of the tool created for the business community to encourage investment and stimulate business activity and economic growth for women and to address the major challenges business and professional women face, which constituted huge impediments to their growth and sustainability.”
