More Nigerian Regions Could Fall to Terrorists – Sowore Blasts Tinubu’s Leadership

Omoyele Sowore, a well-known Nigerian activist and former presidential candidate, has criticized the administration of President Bola Tinubu for the ongoing security problem around the country.
He mentioned a widely shared video clip of a recent terrorist act in a post on his X account.
He bemoaned the inefficiency of Tinubu’s administration and warned that if the problem is allowed to worsen, more areas of the nation could come under terrorist control.

He asserts that there is now no leadership guidance in the nation to resolve the security issues.

He wrote: “Under the corrupt and ineffectual leadership of @officialABAT, Nigeria’s security situation has drastically worsened, raising the possibility that more significant areas of Nigeria could come under terrorist control, as has happened in Syria.

“Nigeria is currently lacking in leadership direction.” #RevolutionNow.

Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, cannot be considered the opposition, according to Sowore.

He maintained that Obi has not demonstrated any opposition to those in authority during an appearance on Channels Television.

Sowore reaffirmed his long-standing skepticism regarding the political intentions and influence of the former governor of Anambra State and rejected claims that Obi is still the opposition’s most recognizable figure ahead of the general elections in 2027.

“But in terms of real opposition,” he remarked. I’m not sure why Peter Obi is referred to as an opposition figure. He has nothing against the government’s actions. His supporters weren’t organized to fight for the election victory he claimed.

When fuel prices rose, he remained silent. He hasn’t done anything that an opposition figure generally does.

What is happening now is what I said in 2022 and 2023: despite the perception that Peter Obi was against the system and could challenge it, he is actually unable to do so.

At the time, I also said that the Labour Party was a short-term rental service, similar to what Americans refer to as Airbnb. You move in, and when your time is over, you check out.
They will transfer the rental to another person once they have finished with Peter Obi. Perhaps Obi is staying for show, or perhaps he doesn’t want to leave just yet.

Sowore went on to say that religious sentiment produced by the APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket was a major factor in Obi’s rise to prominence in 2023.

Christians said, “If you want to Islamize Nigeria, we’ll Christianize it too,” in response to the entire issue around the Muslim-Muslim ticket. And who among the Christian candidates was the most accessible? Peter Obi.

The former presidential candidate maintained that Obi had eschewed the public action, resistance, and mobilization necessary for genuine opposition.

“You have to act like the opposition if you claim to be one. If you can’t put all six million of your supporters on the streets, at least place 60,000 in Abuja to gauge how seriously the government would take you.

He claimed that you are the ones stifling protests because you only want to replace Tinubu’s group with your own and don’t want any lasting change.
