Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, has revealed that her father subjected her to virginity test at the age of 14.

This revelation comes amid outrage caused by US rapper T.I. who said that he forces his 18-year-old daughter, Deyjah Harris, to undergo an annual virginity test at the gynaecologist.

According to reports, T.I. began taking Deyjah to “check her hymen” after her 16th birthday.

In a post on social media, Abubakar, 34, noted that she does not see anything wrong in checking one’s daughter’s virginity status.

“I don’t see anything wrong in checking if your daughter is still a virgin. I remember my dad taking me to see different doctors, just to be sure. He stopped after three times. I hated him then a bit. But he is just a father trying to protect his stubborn daughter,” she wrote.

Responding to a question by a Twitter user, Halima added that her father began checking her virginity status at age 14.
